About Me

My photo
I'm Lejon Mumford from Detroit Michgan. I'm 17 about to be 18 on Nov 28th. I love writing poetry and I actually started after my father passed away in December of 2006. I wrote a poem in his Obituary that i thought was really good, and it took me three months to write again and my baby inspired it in march when i wrote a poem about my father on the internet. It sparked a lot of comments on Facebook so i pretty much have been writing ever since. Although since then my writing abilities have grown and using my two favorite rappers (Eminem, Lupe) I have pulled inspiration from their lyrics time and time again. Oh and i really have gotten alot of inspiration out of Linkin Park also. When I write I'm able to become any one, which means it's a different point of view thus my name becomes Notion because I am a living concept or depiction of everything when I'm holding my pen.

Depth

Rain drops from skies, to the sea,
a single drop from the humbling,
for empty shells that housed evil beings,
to spill under night sky, and man pleads,
with shirt soaked in human being,
then abruptly freed, from all needs,
another drop consecutively,
because of the free, that never
knew the mind of the chained
and weak, the shackles that trap
soul inside me, I think death calls,
for he in mirrors I’ve seen, when eyes
look forth, and believe, that all sights
are dreams, surrounded by black,
that stars illuminate nightly, shield yo eyes,
to prevent pipe dreams, stars blind hearts
that reach, with finger tips full of aspiring,
connected to my arm reaching out of sea,
water infested with the white horse and
black nests, noble stead breathing white
smoke for breath, and the nests releasing
metal locusts with invisible wings, so they
seem wingless, these rain drops fall on my
wrists, and wind blows harder to set me adrift,
and fire balls watch me merely drift by, under
a sky filled by reflected light, while commons
walk on water, I give up my fight, for right, to
be taken from my soon slumber, from life,
in this pool, I name black night, where the
horse rides, and is protected and stolen by
using the black nest and black hives, sinking
to a new depth and stare at balls of fire,
no clock left to cry, to death my voice calls,
even the busiest men can find time to die
